Product Description
KitchenAid's Mini Food Processor is so versatile, it can handle up to 3-cups of ingredients for salsas, sauces, relishes, dips, pesto, baked goods and much more. Use the pulse control for precise operation. A locking domed lid includes a through compartment for adding ingredients as you go and the "reverse spiral action" stainless steel blade pulls food down into the blade and ensures uniform chopping throughout, so you will hardly ever find yourself scraping down the bowl. The KitchenAid quality is especially evident in its construction -- a heavy base adds stability while your processor is in use and the sealed housing reduces noise. When you're done processing, simply wipe off the seamless base and put the other parts in the dishwasher for cleaning. Chopper even comes with a spatula.
Amazon.com Review
With a 3-cup work bowl and 240 watts of power, this chopper is ideal for small jobs and for making sauces, frostings, and dressings. The stainless-steel blade's reverse spiral action pulls food down, minimizing scraping and producing uniform chopped meat, nuts, cheese, vegetables, herbs--all the many foods for which the chopper is intended. For adding ingredients while the chopper is running, the lid has two compartments, one for dry items and the other for wet. For precise control, the chopper's electronic pulse pad responds instantaneously. The heavy power base provides stability and is seamless, making cleanup a simple matter of wiping the base and placing all the parts in the dishwasher. The chopper stands just 9-1/2 inches high and has cord storage inside the base. A stiff spatula is included. Should the chopper fail during its first year, KitchenAid's total replacement warranty guarantees delivery of another machine. --Fred Brack

Great food chopper (2010-05-02)
The food chopper arrived on time and in perfect condition. It sits on my kitchen counter and is always at the ready. I especially like its 3-cup capacity and ease of use.

great little thing (2010-04-14)
this is a replacement for a cheap chopper--- wow what a difference, great prouduct

Love it, with a caveat about the button and a solution (2010-04-13)
This was a Christmas gift and my first response was "What am I going to do with this?" I'd had a full-sized food-processor which I'd gotten rid of years before because I never used it. To my surprise, I loved this one and use it all the time. It's a great little work horse and I use it for everything from making hummus to mincing garlic.

BUT the pulse button was getting wonky. As other reviewers have noted, the safety latch doesn't always engage and the machine won't turn on. In the midst of making a batch of hummus, it stopped working and would not re-engage.

After trying all of the standard things, checking the outlet, etc, I got a little frustrated.

I wadded up a tiny ball of paper and shoved it into the hole on the machine where the safety lever presses. It now works like gang-busters. I might replace it with tinfoil as that seems more durable. The key though is to get the paper ball very compact and exactly the same size as the hole so that when it is in place, it is flush with the edges and top. If it overhangs, even a little, it won't engage.

Mind you, KitchenAid should fix this. But for those of you who are past warranty, this might help. Meanwhile, I'm sure that I'm courting certain death by doing this but my lovely little chopper is running again and I've always found certain death to add a nice tang to my meals.

BLITZ!!!! (2010-03-28)
I had literally beaten three manual choppers to death making guacamole and dicing onions and tomatoes for sauces. My wife finally told me that I needed to stop destroying the kitchen utensils and find something that could withstand the pressure.

This unit does the job, its easy to assemble, disassemble, and clean. I could find no drawbacks with it at all, except the fact that the impeller blade is as sharp as a razor, and needs to be handled carefully.

Its well worth the money.
